Abhyanga is a traditional Ayurvedic massage where warm oil is applied to the entire body. The oil used in Abhyanga is typically a blend of different herbs and oils, such as the ones you mentioned: black sesame oil, trifla, manjishtha, ambahaldi, karchoor, lodhra, gudmar, neem, raktchandan, and liquorice. The oil is often infused with these herbs to provide specific benefits for the skin and body. For example, black sesame oil is said to nourish the skin and promote overall health, while neem is believed to have anti-inflammatory and antifungal properties. Additionally, cow's milk is added to the blend which can nourish the skin and provide a soothing effect. The massage is done using gentle, long strokes, and is believed to promote relaxation, improve circulation, and balance the doshas (the three bodily energies in Ayurveda).

Key Ingredients:

Ingredients:

Abhyanga oil black sesame oil, trifla, manjishtha, ambahaldi, karchoor, lodhra, gudmar, neem, raktchandan, liquorice, cow's milk

How to use:

Abhyanga is typically done before bathing or showering, and is best done on an empty stomach.

Here are the steps to follow when using Abhyanga oil:

  1. Warm the oil: Gently heat the oil to a comfortable warm temperature. You can do this by placing the bottle of oil in a bowl of warm water or heating it in a pan on low heat.

  2. Apply the oil: Begin by applying a small amount of oil to your scalp and massaging it in. Next, apply the oil to your face, ears, and neck. Then, apply the oil to your arms and legs, using gentle, long strokes.

  3. Massage the oil: Take your time and massage the oil into your skin, focusing on any areas that are particularly dry or tense. Use gentle, circular motions to massage the oil into your joints and the soles of your feet.

  4. Leave the oil on: After you have finished massaging the oil into your skin, leave it on for at least 10-15 minutes. You can wrap yourself in a warm blanket or towel to help the oil penetrate the skin.

  5. Bathe or shower: After the oil has been on for 10-15 minutes, take a warm bath or shower to remove the oil. Avoid using soap or shampoo, as these can strip the skin of its natural oils.

  6. Repeat: It is recommended to repeat this process 2-3 times a week for best results.

Note: If you are pregnant, have a medical condition or taking any medication, please consult with your healthcare provider before using this oil.
